I've been wanting to create a lion series for some time, and In the Stillness is the second painting in that collection. This piece has overwhelmed me in the best possible way. Not only has it stretched me as an artist and strengthened my confidence, but it has also spoken deeply to my soul throughout the painting process.
 
As I worked, I felt such a profound sense of presence that captures the stillness of resting in the King's embrace—safe, sheltered. The lion embodies immense strength, power, and protection as he watches over the woman who has finally released her fears, burdens, and striving.
 
With her eyes closed, she rests beneath his flowing mane, finding refuge in the One who guards her. In that sacred stillness, her soul is restored. There is no need to perform, defend, or carry the weight of the world. She is simply safe. Secure. Hidden in His presence.
 
In the Stillness is a reminder that true peace is found not in the absence of life's storms, but in the presence of the One who remains steadfast through them all.
