FAQ

Do you provide payment plans?

Yes. We can discuss in our consultation appointment the best way to set up payments between your booking deposit and your wedding date.

How many hours do you paint at my wedding?

I will arrive around 2 hours before your wedding starts to connect with your wedding planner or event staff, set up and begin sketching and painting the background and possibly take some photos or do some sketches of you or your groom.  Then I will paint and provide entertainment for you and your guests anywhere between 2 to 8 hours depending on the package you choose for your live wedding painting.

If you are already booked for my wedding date, can you paint from a photograph after my wedding?

Absolutely! I love to do this for brides and grooms that I cannot attend their weddings live. This is what I always encourage if I'm not available or if you are already married.

How do I secure my wedding date on your calendar?

After confirming my availability and an agreed upon package, a 50% deposit and signed contract are required to secure your date on my calendar. The remaining investment is due two weeks before your wedding date.

Do you travel?

Yes, I love to travel. I am able to travel up to 4 hours from Oregon, Ohio. We can discuss the details in our consultation appointment. Travel will be additional based on distance and if overnight accommodations or rental car would be required.

What type of paint do you use?

At your wedding, I may be painting with some mixed media materials like markers, inks, collage, etc., in my abstract realism style, but my main medium will be acrylics at your event. Then afterward in my studio, I will typically complete your painting in oils. The oils help bring the painting to life with vibrant colors and depth. This will keep your painting more protected during any transporting of the canvas that may be needed.

Do you offer any bonus options or special discounts?

Each package can be upgraded with extras such as prints, custom framing, upgrade in size and more for an additional investment. I am also very proud to support our active military, veterans and first responders by offering an exclusive discount. Please mention your military service or job title as a first responder in your inquiry comments, and please prepare to provide a valid ID for your discount.

How long does it take to get my painting back after my wedding?

Typically, I will finish your painting in my studio. Depending on the size, pose and details, and drying time, and season, your painting may take up to 6 to 8 weeks to be complete enough to varnish and prepare it for delivery or shipping. Some seasons it does not take that long. During busier times of the year, like around the holidays or peak wedding season, it may take a bit longer. I will keep you updated with the progress during this finishing time of your artwork.

Will you require any special provisions from the venue?

My setup is minimal and usually does not require assistance from the venue other than setting aside a 4'x6' space indoors and/or outdoors that will give me a good view of the scene I will be painting. Depending on where I set up and the time of day, I may need access to a nearby outlet for any lighting I may need. I will also need access to water, a place to dump dirty paint water and a place to wash paint from my hands and brushes. If available, WiFi connection is very helpful to me as I begin to paint your pose in detail. I usually do this by taking a photo of the pose you have chosen and then I would continue to work off of my phone or iPad and may internet to adjust the photo.
